Chapter21—The new Jerusalem
In chapter 20 we had judgment day by God and the Lake of fire in which all evil is gone, never to be seen again just as you will find the Heaven and Earth as we know it now will be gone and we will be in the last Earth age, or the eternity.
We will not remember this Earth age, nor the people that went into the Lake of fire, and why would we want to remember, and the new Heaven and Earth will be beautiful in a way that we cannot comprehend. This is what all Christians should look forward to.
Heavenly Father, please add wisdom to all that read your words, in Jesus name, Amen.
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Imagine if you can, John seeing the new Heaven and a new Earth in which everything is beautiful and wonderful. Not as we see in this Earth age with the evil and way's of the world.
Now don't let what John is saying here throw you off because he is saying the first earth and heaven were passed away. John is seeing the last earth age so he is talking about this earth age, the one we are in now being in flesh bodies gone forever and ever. Keep in mind it is the same earth only rejuvenated.
This earth age we are in now is only about 14,000 years old and the first earth age was millions and millions of years old which is proven by science or what ever technology they have, and by the first and second verse in the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible.
Look at the word New in this verse = Strong's G2537 = kī-no's -- recently born, recently made, refreshed, refurbished.
Also, John is telling us and seeing that there is no more sea. Why would this be? Because the earth returns as it was in the first earth age where there was no sea because the sea or waters were above the earth protecting it.
The Earth is off a few degrees from its axis. God will return the Earth to its correct axis, therefore the waters will be above the earth just like clouds are today in this earth age. That's why there will be no disease or anything that can make us sick in our spiritual bodies. There will be nothing to offend, no earthquakes, no North or South Pole, no jets in the air, and so on as we see in this earth age.
Did God tell us it about the new Heaven and Earth before John was taken to it in his spiritual body? Yes he did in Isaiah as written below. Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Also as written in two Peter as He tells of the evil rudiments or elements that shall melt with fervent heat. 2peter3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 2peter3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2peter3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 2peter3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2peter3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Now, with the above said can you see there will be no nuclear war nor a world war three. God has told us all things.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. John is seeing new Jerusalem from God and if you remember before this time in past chapter’s satan brought Babylon to this Earth and deceive many, however there will be no deception here.
The full Godhead, Yahaveh is now with us in new Jerusalem, (habitation of peace) in which is God's favorite place on this Earth and I might add the entire universe.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. What more can be said about this verse except that as Isaiah told us “a virgin shall conceive” and “shall call his name Immanuel”. Emmanuel means God with us. Strong's G1694 Emmanuel = "God with us". the title applied to the Messiah, born of the virgin, because Jesus was God united with man, and showed that God was dwelling with man. Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Then in Matthew what Isaiah prophesied about came to pass. Jesus was born of a virgin and his name was called Emmanuel. Matt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
And now in revelation 21:3 we, in our new bodies are with our one true God, Yahveh. This should tell us that God would never ask us to do anything that he would not do, so praise God in Jesus name Amen because “God himself shall be with them”.
After Ezekiel completed a description of how the new city would be in measurements in chapter 48, God through Ezekiel gives the name of the city. The name of the city as you will read below is called the “Lord is there”. Eze 48:35 [It was] round about eighteen thousand [measures]: and the name of the city from [that] day [shall be], The LORD [is] there.
LORD [is] there = Hebrew for H3074 = Yahaveh-shammah = "Yahaveh is there"
Yes, God will be there and we will be with him, not as God was with Moses in the wilderness when the glory of God filled the tabernacle as written below. Exd 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. This is a beautiful verse because not only do those who made on the first resurrection will be with God, but also includes those who overcame the second death by following Jesus and not following satan when released a short season after the thousand years were completed.
God shall wipe away all tears because no more will we remember the past, those who went into the Lake of fire. At this time there will be no more death because we will live forever with our Father. Just think, no more death, sorrow, crying for those who we loved, no pain, mental or physical, no more neighbors or people that don’t like you, and so on and on. Just eternal with our Lord God.
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. John hears God say “I make all things new”. Not only that, but God himself told John to write these words. So we have these words written in the book of Revelation. What a beautiful thought as I sit here in the flesh.
Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. This will be our home forever and whom ever thirst God will give the “water of life freely”. We will never thirst for anything again.
God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. The beginning and the end of all the words written in the Bible by God through the prophets God sent forth. And while we are in these flesh bodies all we have to do is come to repentance and believe upon our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is so simple yet remember, satan's evil spirits and the ways of the world are haunting us every day while we are in these flesh bodies, so we do have stumbling blocks, yet when we stumble return to Jesus to forgive us and it is done, for Christ it is that water of life.
Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. God is our Father for He created us and we, no gender intended, will be His Children.
To inherit all things sounds so wonderful and will be, but first we have to overcome in this earth age in these flesh bodies. It can be done and this is what our Father wants for us. Overcometh== conquer = victory,- victorious--of Christ, victorious over all His foes --of Christians, that hold fast their faith even unto death against the power of their foes, and temptations and persecutions.
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Our father puts it right on the line to us who shall take part in the second death. Now if you remember the word sorcerer is where we get our word pharmacist from. This means an illegal pharmacist or a drug dealer or partaker in drugs.
Keep in mind this is after satan is loosed a little season following a thousand years of teaching or the millennium. What is the lake of fire? The second death as stated in Rev20:14, not a literal fire as forever and ever that you can see all the above people, but to perish and never to be seen or remembered again.
Many teachers tell us that you will be in a burning hell forever. What a shame. The second death is the death of your inner self, your soul. What kind of a God would we have if we look in a pit of burning fire and see people in it? People in it might be a relative or friend. No, this is not how our Father’s work because he loves us and would never put us through something like that.
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, The Shechinah glory of God, He is there, and we with him in that Holy Jerusalem coming from Heaven from God on that great mountain in Mt. Zion. You will find later what the dimensions will be of the city that we will dwell forever and ever on this earth in a new dimension, in the last and final earth age.
Rev 21:11 Having the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; So pure the city will be.
Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, [and] had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are [the names] of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: Each of the 12 tribes of Israel will have their own gate and this is nothing new because the tribes were lined up in order around the tabernacle while they were in the wilderness after coming out of Egypt.
You can read about this in the book of Genesis. God gave these instructions to Moses because our God is a God of discipline and order and so shall it be in the new Jerusalem.
You might ask why the 12 tribes? Remember, 10 of those tribes cross to Caucasian mountains settling Europe, Canada, and yes the good old US of A.
Rev 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. The 12 tribes in their position as in the beginning of this earth age with 1 removed and 1 added as in Chapter7 in this book. 1 was added to replace the one who followed strange god’s. Joseph replaces Dan.
Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The 12 apostles. Now you can see God's plan from the beginning by the ones he sent forth in giving instructions for his church, His many member body that anyone can partake of.
Remember Judas who betrayed Christ? Many people think Judas is not part of the 12 anymore because they choose another to take his place. Also, if you remember the Bible says Judas hung himself, but he had a little help and he did repent by throwing the 30 pieces of silver back at the Kenites.
The Bible also says his insides fell out because he was split from his Adam's apple to somewhere in the area of his bellybutton. Now when you hang yourself, though I don't know I don't think you will be able to cut yourself like that so Judas had help and I'm sure it was the Kenites.
Why am I telling you this? The point that Judas repented tells me that he should not be counted out of these 12 at this time because he did repent so let’s leave the judging to God. And it's the same with us if you believe your sins are removed after repenting you are in good standing, however to those who do not believe your sins are removed after repenting they better wake up.
Rev 21:15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. The measuring of the city is not for destruction this time as it was in Revelation Ch11 to destroy satan's kingdom. No, this time it is for our new home.
Rev 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. Rev 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred [and] forty [and] four cubits, [according to] the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. I'll let you do the calculating of the measurements, however the final measurements you will find to be 15 hundred miles square and 1500 miles straight up to the heavens.
Picture a cube that is 1500 miles for sides and 1500 miles straight up this is where our home will be the new Jerusalem God is there with us. Right now in the world as it is this cube will not fit in Jerusalem, however when the seas are removed and the Earth is placed back where it was in the beginning before the overthrow of satan the city will fit in Jerusalem.
Rev 21:18 And the building of the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like unto clear glass. In other words, the city will be so pure and nothing, I mean nothing, will offend.
Rev 21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city [were] garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation [was] jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; Rev 21:20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. Our Father is so good to us and told us all things. The stones listed above are the same stones on the breast plate worn by the priest as God instructed Moses to make in the book of Exodus.
So instead of making you read about the precious stones of the priest breast plate I listed the verses for you. As the book of Ecclesiastes tells us there is nothing new under the sun.
Exd 28:15 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; [of] gold, [of] blue, and [of] purple, and [of] scarlet, and [of] fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. Exd 28:16 Foursquare it shall be [being] doubled; a span [shall be] the length thereof, and a span [shall be] the breadth thereof.
Exd 28:17 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, [even] four rows of stones: [the first] row [shall be] a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: [this shall be] the first row. Exd 28:18 And the second row [shall be] an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
Exd 28:19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. Exd 28:20 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings.
Exd 28:21 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, [like] the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes.
Rev 21:21 And the twelve gates [were] twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city [was] pure gold, as it were transparent glass. Again, this is just a sign of purity. No killings, no bombings, no hate. You get the picture.
Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. What a beautiful verse, just think about this for a while.
YAHAVEH-SHAMMAH = Yahaveh, (God) is there. EL SHADDAI =Lord God almighty God and the Son as one in the eternity. Never again will that Temple be destroyed.
Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof. The Shechinah glory (God is there) of God. Can you grasp this? No sun no moon just the glory of God and Jesus is the light. Just as Jesus told us “I am the light of the world” in John 8:12. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Nations = ethnos=Ethnic people of the same race or nationality and / or a multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus- a tribe, nation, people group.
Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians. kings of the earth -the people or God’s elect that stood against satan and was delivered up and allowed the Holy Spirit to speak through them.
I know this is a little hard to understand, but just keep in mind the 12 tribes were mentioned in an earlier verse above so these will be people that are not of the 12 tribes, but of the same ethnic people or race that is part of the many member body of Christ and is now in new Jerusalem with God.
Just take a look at the world as we know it now and all the different race of people, so shall it be in the new Jerusalem with a King or Queen or an elect of God. Let’s let Isaiah tell us. Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isa 60:19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
Isa 60:20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. Isa 60:21 Thy people also [shall be] all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
Isa 60:22 A little one (family of God) shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.
Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. There shall be no night so all of God's children no matter what ethnic or race will have access to the glory of God at all times. I might add, times is not a very good word because there will be no time as we know it now.
Rev 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And they meaning the Kings and Queens of the ethnos or the ethnic people into the living God.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. And there you have it my friends, our new home in our spiritual body in which nothing that can defile can enter into our home that our father has in store for us. Only they which are written in the Lamb's book of life can enter. Think about this.
